Film dan Kebudayaan Sumatra Barat; Catatan Minang Film Festival 2017

Media film, merupakan suatu cabang kesenian yang paling komplek. Berbagai unsur kesenian seperti teater, musik, tari, seni rupa, dan lainya menyatu menjadi sebuah item kesenian yang berbeda. Daya tarik film sebagai media pembelajaran dan pengembangan menjadi sangat penting dalam mempertahankan kebudayaan sebagai jati diri bangsa.

Kita bisa lihat berbagai film dengan latar belakang kebudayaan masyarakat Sumatera Barat khususnya etnis Minangkabau saat ini banyak di produksi baik itu dalam ruang lingkup industri dan independen (indie). Beberapa film yang memasukan unsur kebudayaan Minangkabau saat ini menjadi daya tarik tersendiri dalam perkembangan film di Indonesia. Hal ini tentu saja menjadi sarana promosi kearifan lokal (lokal Genius) Sumatera Barat ke daerah luar.

Dapat kita lihat, dalam beberapa tahun kebelakang, film-film yang memiliki latar belakang Minangkabau cukup mendapat perhatian publik. Sebut saja film Merantau,  Dibawah Lindungan Ka’bah, Tenggelamnya kapal Van Derwijch, Me vs Mami Surau Silek dan Lain sebagainya. Beberapa film tersebut merupakan film-film yang masuk dalam kancah industri nasional.

Untuk Film independen yang di produksi oleh komunitas- komunitas di Sumatera Barat juga telah mulai berkembang. Sebut saja film Salisiah Adaik, Sumando, Siti Baheram, Minanga Kanwa, Perantau Kantau, ADogs Life, Siti Padang, Senandung Aisyah, dan masih banyak lagi.

Berbagai festival-festival film dan komunitas film saat ini di Sumatera Barat  mulai berkembang dan cukup banyak diminati sineas-sineas muda untuk saling berkompetisi dan berapresiasi terhadap perkembangan film di Sumatera Barat.

Minang Film Festival

Para sineas muda Sumatera Barat saat ini membutuhkan etalase, ruang dimana pemikiran-pemikiran kreatif dapat disampaikan kepada publik dalam media film. Festival Film menjadi penting sebagai etalese tersebut.

Pada kamis (4/5/17) kemaren, Prodi Televisi dan Film ISI Padangpanjang berhasil melaksanakan Minang Film Festival dengan tema Film, Lokalitas dan Komunitas. Berbagai film lokal di tampung dalam satu ruang yang kemudian di lempar kepublik. Isu-isu kebudayaan hari ini dapat terbaca dengan baik di kalangan masyarakat.

Ini merupakan salah satu gerakan terhadap perkembangan film khususnya masyarakat. Dalam event ini tentu saja setiap pembuat film, pemerhati film, dan komunitas- komunitas film dapat berapresiasi melihat perkembangan film terkini khususnya Sumatera Barat.

Ketua pelaksana Minang Film Festival Choiru Pradono, S.Sn., M.Sn juga menyatakan bahwa gerakan-gerakan perubahan yang dinamis dan militan dari komunitas-komunitas film selalu dapat ditemui di setiap daerah termasuk di Sumatera Barat. Berbagai komunitas film mencoba bertahan dengan berbagai solusi dan masalahnya. Tidak bisa dipungkiri rasa kecintaan terhadap film yang mendalam itulah yang membuat para penggiat komunitas-komunitas film akan terus bertahan apapun keadaannya, dan kondisi inilah yang membuat secara sadar merayakan sekaligus menyusun kekuatan baru untuk kemajuan perfilman di Sumatera Barat.

Film dan Kebudayaan

Pada Minang Film Festival yang diadakan oleh satu-satunya institusi pendikan dalam bidang film di Sumatera Barat itu, kita dapat melihat bahwa keselurahan karya-karya tersebut bertema tentang kearifan dab keunikan kebudayaan Sumatera Barat. Kearifan lokal tersebutlah yang kemudian dibaca oleh para sineas-sineas muda yang kemudian di interpretasikan kedalam sebuah film.

Karya-karya film yang mengangkat tema kebudayaan tersebut menjadi refleksi sosial masyarakat Sumatera Barat. Selain itu juga bisa menjadi sebuah kajian lain bagi para peneliti dalam perkembangan kebudayaan.

Banyak para pakar kebudayaan yang menyebutkan bahwa film merupakan media yang hebat dalam merubah dan membentuk karakter masyarakat. Contoh konkrit yang dapat dilihat hari ini terhadap hadirnya budaya keypop pada remaja-remaja tanah air, hal ini disebabkan begitu banyak remaja indonesia yang mengidolkan kebudayaan korea yang diselipkan pada film.

Dirasa sangat perlu pemerintah terus berupaya memupuk para pembuat, pemerhati  dan komunitas film dalam upaya mempertahankan kebudayaan khususnya Sumatera Barat. Hidup film Sumbar!!
